Minister Schedules-

Feb thru April 2020 Schedule

Altar Servers-

Altar Servers assist the priest throughout the Mass. Their participation includes carrying the cross in the entrance procession, holding the Roman Missal for prayers, carrying the torches and assisting in preparations for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

Men, women, teens, young adults, boys and girls who have made their First Communion are encouraged to become Altar Servers.

Altar Servers will be scheduled to serve Masses, including weekend Masses, holy days and special Masses throughout the year.

Altar Servers must go through training prior to serving.

If you would like more information or to become a member of this ministry, please contact the Parish Office by email office@stjohnxxiiinh.org at 603‐882‐2462.

Lectors-

Lectors proclaim the Word of God clearly at weekend and special Masses. This ministry requires a commitment of 1 to 2 Masses per month. All Catholics in good standing, fully initiated in the Church (Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist) who are aware of proper diction when reading, are eligible to participate in the Lector ministry.

Lectors must be instructed on the proper attire and how to proclaim the Word of God prior to serving.

Lectors will be scheduled to serve Masses, including weekend Masses, holy days and special Masses throughout the year.

If you would like more information or to become a member of this ministry, please contact the Parish Office by email office@stjohnxxiiinh.org at 603‐882‐2462.

Eucharistic Ministers-

Confirmed men and women extend their love of the sacrament by assisting with the distribution of the Holy Eucharist. Those to be deputed should be mature in faith and be known to other parishioners as exemplary Catholics. The pastor (or, with the pastor’s permission, the parochial vicar) sends the names of candidates to the Office of the Bishop who give approval and grants permission by letter. The signature of the priest is required as a recommendation of the individual. These lay people are sometimes referred to as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. All Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion must be properly prepared for their role of distributing Holy Communion by the pastor or his delegate, and made aware of the nature of this liturgical ministry, the mystery of the Eucharist and the theology of the Mass.

Once proper training has been received, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion may assist the priest in distributing the Eucharist at Mass. They may also serve by bringing communion to parishioners who reside in nursing homes and assisted living facilities, or to those that are in their own homes and are unable to get to church. Unless previously withdrawn, permission is given for a three year period which must be renewed to remain in effect.

Eucharist Ministers will be scheduled to serve Masses, including weekend Masses, holy days and special Masses throughout the year.
